    Chirpy Canaries (Video)

I work with a lad who has had an epiphany, to place a £5 bet on Norwich City to win every weekend no matter who or where they are playing.

Since, though, The Canaries are yet to win a game. The two consecutive losses, a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Boxing Day and a 4-3 defeat to Manchester City, have earned my mate no money but these two results may give him cause for optimism and be an example why Norwich will be playing Premier League football for a third consecutive season in 2013/14.

Norwich’s first game of the season, under new boss Chris Hughton, was a 5-0 away drubbing to Fulham followed by 3 draws and then another 3 consecutive defeats leaving Norwich 19th, winless and one of the favourites for relegation.

Following a dismal start to the season Norwich were able to turn things around and get their season going with a 1-0 victory over Arsenal sparking an unbeaten 10 game run of 6 wins, including a 1-0 win over Manchester United, and 4 draws. Just as important as the win over United may be the away win, 4-3 over Swansea City, this is so far their only one.

While Norwich have struggled to pick up points on the road, only 8 points in 9 games, it is at Carrow Road where they set up to keep themselves in the Premier League. Hughton sets his side to be solid in defence, full of creativity in midfield and the passionate crowd, including Delia Smith, roar their team on against all comers.
