Arsenal fans: You don’t want Park back

Watching Celta Vigo take on Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday night, there was one name that caught my attention when the teams were announced - that of Park Chu-Young. The South Korea international is currently on loan with the La Liga outfit having failed to make the desired impact at Arsenal.

After three successful years in France, the Gunners faithful were understandably excited about the arrival of the 27-year-old, but six appearances and one goal later, a vast majority were left with their head in their hands at any flop at the Emirates Stadium.

Many felt that a stint in Spain would work wonders for Park and hopefully see him return to North London rejuvenated and ready to fight for his place in the starting XI. However, three goals in 12 appearances for the Galician side and many have been left pondering why he was signed in the first place.

The former FC Seoul front-man did little to raise hopes during Celta’s 2-1 win over Los Blancos on Wednesday, squandering three decent opportunities to see his side take the lead before being substituted midway through the second half.

His performance left a lot to be desired and regardless of the inability of Gervinho or Marouane Chamakh, Arsenal would be better suited forgetting about life after Park, primarily because he simply isn’t good enough.

Well I don't know about that. Whatever happened yesterday, he's a far better finisher than most of our strikers and he never really got a chance to play for Arsenal.

My take on this is that Wenger never wanted Park who was recruited at least partly for merchandise reasons. Park was surely good enough to be given a chance. But in order to underline that he, Wenger , was in total control .... he hardly ever played the man. never gave hima chance. And if so .... it was surely not a good attitude for AFC ??

He played in the league cup and never looked v good.
