    Red card ramifications

Adebayor’s reckless tackle which led to his dismissal showed a considerable amount of naivety from a man whose experience was important to his team’s chances of victory.

The striker’s power and energy was a key contributing factor to Tottenham’s bright start at the Emirates. Having scored to put his team 1-0 up, he let the intensity of the occasion get the better of him with a wild and thoughtless tackle on Santi Cazorla.

The red card proved to be a defining point in the game which saw Arsenal run out 4-2 winners over their North London rivals.

AVB will now be left questioning his decision to start a man whose passion for the match was always going to surpass others and be in danger of spiralling out of control.

Adebayor, a malicious player he most certainly is not, has demonstrated such confounding behaviour before and AVB knew playing him was a risk. The result is another London derby defeat and a three match ban for a player who for 16 minutes suggested a partnership with Defoe has the potential of being very effective.

Perhaps the latter will be what Spurs will suffer from the most. With the busy Christmas period fast approaching, now would have been the perfect time for the Defoe-Adebayor partnership to start gaining momentum.

Watching the game on T.V,yes the tackle looked harsh but one minute later Cazorla(who looked as though he was dead when tackled)was sprinting, move'ing freely around the park as though he had no injury, which tells me he did not even have a bruise.Take a look at the Spurs players that are out for months from minor tackles, then have a look at Adebayor's tackle with no injury to Cazorla. For me another good game was spoilt at a early stage and i would love to see the game being played as it was years ago without players cry'ing, acting and spoiling the game.
I know people will not agree but at the end of the day this player was not injured at all.I am not a Rugby fan bu refs. should watch the game played by men

Charles, to be sent off for that sort of tackle you don't even have to make contact with the player ... intent is enough. Studs first tackles with both feet off the ground get red cards - quite rightly - and if you need any more evidence that (for once) Howard Webb got it right, AVB didn't even try to defend the tackle or argue with the decision ...

Carzola and arsenal must pay later for their behaviour that gives red card to adebayor
