Zlatan’s goal was good, but it wasn’t his best (Video)

My oh my, if you ever needed proof the Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a bona fide legend, he certainly delivered last night. The giant Swede put England to the sword, netting all four goals in the 4-2 win for the Scandinavian side, with his fourth a stunning 30-yard bicycle kick following a calamitous mess up from Joe Hart.

The performance all but shut up the cretinous travelling support, who were quick to dub Ibrahimovic a ‘s*** Andy Carroll’ prior to his hat-trick goal – a 30-yard free kick. Yet, some outlets in the media have been quick to dub the goal one of the greatest ever.

I mean, it was a hell of a strike – anyone that can net a bicycle kick, let alone one from distance, deserves copious amounts of praise. But, to say it the greatest ever is a bit far-fetched considering it wasn’t even Zlatan’s best goal.

The powerful front-man has netted some astonishing strikers during his illustrious career, spanning from Holland to Spain to Italy and now to France. However, it was during his early Ajax days that the elegant Swede buried his finest effort.

For a player that has scored nearly 250 career club goals, not bad for someone dubbed overrated by many in England, it’s this strike against NAC Breda in 2004, voted Goal of the Year by Eurosport viewers, that will forever remain Zlatan’s best goal, to date.
