You thought the pitch last night was bad? (Video)

So, Poland v England was postponed last week because of a ‘proposed’ waterlogged pitch. I mean, they could have at least attempted to play, its only a bit of water eh boys?

That’s what fans of Hayes and Yeading and Ebbsfleet will tell you anyway. The Blue Square Premier teams played in awful conditions in their game on New Years day 2012. The ball was barely rolling 5 yards, making the simplest passes almost impossible.

I’m not sure if the game was abandoned for the standard of football that was able to be played, or the players’ safety. When the ball stopped in puddles on the way to players feet, two footed tackles were flying in.

Ebbsfleet were actually winning the game when it was abandoned, and subsequently won the rearranged fixture 2-1.

Get the squeegees out boys!
