Lampard to United? You can’t be serious

Everybody knows that Manchester United are currently lacking numbers and experience in the middle of the park. Paul Scholes’ retirement meant that they didn’t have an experienced central midfielder. They also have several injuries which only adds to the problem they currently have have Tom Cleverly, Darren Fletcher and Anderson all out of action.

But making an attempt at signing out of favour Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is a ridiculous proposition. I admit that Lampard is a great midfielder and is an asset to any team. However Frank Lampard has stated his desire to stay at Chelsea and I expect him to do so. He is the type of player that united are looking for but is he past his best? At 33 he is no spring chicken.

If Lampard is to leave Chelsea, which is a big if. I feel he is more likely to go to either Spurs or play abroad. David Beckham has already suggested that he came to America and play over there. There is also some serious money to be earned in Russia and Asia.

Personally I think you have more chance of Luka Modric going to Arsenal for £50M than Lampard going to Manchester United.

Is this the worst transfer rumour yet?
