ACON One to watch: Seydou Doumbia

With the African Cup of Nations now in full swing it's time to take a look at one of the players set to shine in the Southern Hemisphere.

CSKA Moscow's Seydou Doumbia has not yet broken into the Ivory Coast first VI, but if his club record is anything to go by, he is the obvious choice to fill Didider Drogba's boots for country and maybe even club.

After destroying the Swiss League with 57 goals in 78 games for Young Boys the 24 year-old made the step up to Champions League chasing CSKA where he has continued his rich vein of goalscoring  by netting 44 goals in 56 games. A step up? Apparently easier according to our man Seydou.

These ridiculous strike rates have even trasferred onto the biggest club competition of them all. The UEFA Champions League. Here he has a record of 5 in 5. It appears that the perceived higher the standard, the more he nets.

Destined for a major club move, if Gervinho continually fails to deliver for the Ivorians, then Doumbia will be called into the team and no doubt will be able to tick international football off his list of goalscoring exploits.
