Fergie back in for Neuer

After a masterclass display in the champions semi final showdown, Fergie has stepped up his efforts to sign the German No1.

Manuel Neuer was on fine form Tuesday, one that nearly prevented United of a much deserved victory. But with a war of words between the hierarchy at German rivals Bayern who were set to sign the Germany goalie, United are keen to take advantage and swoop for the Schalke star.

The Daily Star reports that Bayern are unwilling to increase their bid to over £20million, but with no agreement in place, the Scot believes a bid of £24million will be too much for Bayern to match.
