Dalglish and Fergie to battle it out for Blackburn star

Manchester United and Liverpool will duke it out for England’s U21 centre half Phil Jones.

Jones, 19 has just signed a contract extension to 2016 with current club Blackburn, but could have his head turned if one the “big clubs” makes a move this summer.

The Sun reports, Arsenal were knocked back last year and Chelsea are also keen, but Fergie see 19-year old as a perfect long term partner with Chris Smalling and with Liverpool sending chief scouts to watch the promising youngster, it looks set to be a tug of war for the English starlet.

The £15million rate defender could be set for a mega money move this summer, especially if Rovers go down, but Ewood Park boss will be determined to hold onto their prized asset.
