      Kirkland for sale

      The Metro reports that the former English international will be aloud to a leave this summer on a free, despite a year left on his current contract.

      The Blues chairman is keen to release the goalkeepers £30,000 wages, especially as Kirkland, 29 is now 3rd choice at the DW Stadium.

      Aston Villa Houllier boss is a keen admirer and has previously worked with the goalkeeper at Liverpool. Sunderland boss, would also see Kirkland as a perfect No2 to Scottish international Craig Gordon.
