    The future’s bright...................the future’s orange??

PNE have tried to break through to the Premier League so many times now and have fell short, on the other hand rivals Blackpool don’t know what all the fuss is about.

Sitting currently in 15th in the table, some people would see even this position as an overachievement, doubted at the beginning of the campaign, Blackpool were already labelled as the team to finish bottom of the league, relegated without even a chance. Blackpool’s players were out to prove everyone wrong and boy have they.....................

A 4-0 drubbing on the opening game of the season against Wigan at the DW Stadium got their campaign up and running, after this an average start for a newcomer until a shocking 2-1 win against Liverpool at Anfield, this turning into a double over the Merseysiders.

Crazy games and crazy results a plenty with Blackpool this year usually at Bloomfield Road, combine this with excellent performances but not always getting what they deserve and you’ve had a rollercoaster of a ride. A refreshing philosophy manager Ian Holloway has that every game is a must win and even a point is useless, a great laugh with some of the things he has come out with but also a very good manager, he will learn in the Premier League that you will get punished, performances don’t always win points as recently shown when Blackpool made Man United look shocking in the first half only to result in a 3-2 comeback.

I personally have appreciated Blackpool’s entertaining football, it is a pleasure to grace their presence in the Premier League and I hope that they can stay here permanently. If Blackpool do stay up then surely Ian Holloway should be crowned manager of the year along with possible candidate for player of the year midfield maestro Charlie Adam.

With PNE possibly being relegated to League 1 as well, Blackpool may have the better of their rivals for many years to come; after all they have done what PNE have never been able to do.

    Let’s hope the future’s bright......................the future’s orange.
