    African National Championsip

On Saturday Nigeria made history with a 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe in Wad Madany.
The West Africans won with a 70th minute strike from Adamou Abdoulkader.

South Africa also made a winning start with a 2-1 win over 2009 runners-up Ghana.
Ghana took the lead on 18 minutes through midfielder Daniel Coomson. But second half goals by substitutes Collins Zimba and Leonard Shabangu sealed the win for the South Africans.

South Africa now face Niger in their next game on Wednesday whilst Ghana must avoid defeat against Zimbabwe to fight for a place in the next stage of the competition.
