    The season so far... in rhyme!

    For Arsenal, it was a summer of discontent,

    Improvements were needed, no money was spent.

    Then our talismanic Cesc was captured by Barca,

    And money grabbers Gael and Samir left smiling with laughter.

    A draw against the Geordies and beat by the Scouse,

    But still Wenger still refused to reinvest in our house.

    The 8-2 defeat, what humiliation,

    Deadline deals for Arsenal, what a revelation.

    Late wheeling and dealing to make our squad better:

    Mertsesacker, Santos, Benayoun and Arteta.

    But losing to Blackburn and then to the Spuds,

    Were Wenger’s recruits just a load of old duds?

    But we’d been doing okay in Europe, and the Carling Cup,

    Would our form in the league be on its way up?

    We’d beat Sunderland and Stoke, could we make it three on the spin,

    By leaving Stamford Bridge with our season’s first away win.

    Mistakes were made, and chances were missed,

    And when we went in 2-1 down at half time I was rather annoyed.

    Then a Santos equaliser and Theo put us in the lead,

    Mata scoring after Santos was fouled, I wasn’t best pleased.

    A slip from captain Terry, gave Robin time and space,

    It put us back in front and left egg on John’s face.

    Van Persie completed his hat-trick and sealed the win;

    And after much misery, our season can begin.

    So far this year, Robin’s scored 28 goals in 27 games:

    But no Ballon d’Or nomination? Do FIFA have brains?

    Yes we have good players, but we still need more,

    And we must keep our captain should offers come to our door.

    There are rumours City will try and buy Robin in Jan;

    My advice:

    Buy a Ford Transit…COS WE’RE NOT SELLING OUR VAN!
