Martinez needs some luck, so leave Rhodes alone Canaries!

Bottom of the Premiership, with just one win all season.

It’s safe to say that Wigan haven’t enjoyed the best of starts to the new campaign.

And if the rumours are to be believed, Latics boss Roberto Martinez is set to be dealt another blow to his miserable term.

Although this time it’s in the transfer market.

Reports today have revealed that the Spaniard is going to miss out on League One hot-shot and all-round Scottish goal-machine Jordan Rhodes.

The Huddersfield striker has become one of the hottest properties in Britain having scored 47 goals in just 96 games for the Yorkshire outfit.

But it seems only a matter of time before the top-flight beckons for the 21 year-old, with rumours stating just weeks ago that Wigan were the front-runners for his signature.

Now though, it seems Premier League rivals Norwich are leading the race to sign Rhodes, with a fee of £3m being reported.

That would be another kick in the teeth for Martinez, whose side have had problems with finding the back of the net all season.

Some people have said that the former Swansea boss should have moved to Aston Villa in the summer when he was offered the job at Villa Park.

But loyalty should be rewarded and Martinez deserves a bit more luck than he’s getting at the moment.

So come on Norwich, give Roberto a break and let Rhodesy move to the DW Stadium.

    It’s only fair.

I think after what our fans had to go through a few seasons ago, matches anything any other team has been through.

Relegated to league one and then smashed at home 7-1 by Colchester in the first game of the season.

We deserve the squad that we have got as Lambert and co have worked very hard to get there in such a short space of time.
I am pleased this manager has proved everyone wrong and we have shown we can match top teams in this country.

Love to see this player at Carrow Road, clearly another lower league player that Lambert thinks can make the step up.

May the best team win to sign him...!!
