A wonderful article (Sir) I just love reading about our more experienced supporters history and them reminisce and share our history. You clearly have many memories that you cherish that you have shared wonderfully.Which helps younger fans like myself learn.
Rather than think of the 'Lawman' sending United down, think of it like, we were down after the defeat at Goodison in April 74.It helps to turn a negative and imagination into a positive.

The subject of the managers or Sirs replacement, is hopefully in the far far distant. To many variables in my opinion that currently are unclear and crystal ball gazing is tricky at the best of times. lol
David Moyes is a decent shout, but as you know, limited European experience, which Alex Ferguson had prior to his arrival in Manchester with his success's in Aberdeen.
Recently there was a debate of this nature on the manager(future) on a United forum, broadly from recall the of votes fell,Ole Gunnar 35 Jose Mourhino 34% Pep guardiola 33%, these %s are fairly broad now clearly. That was the rough outcome, simply from fans voting and not necessarly commenting to support their view.
    Good luck......Sir.

I should check my sums before posting, 35 +34+33 =102.... as %. lol
The idea is broadly correct! lol
    good luck.
