December promises to be a month of bumper top notch action on Sky as they bring you the very best of football from right across the continent. The top team in England will discover their European fate as Manchester City welcome Bayern Munich in the Champions League, arguably the two best teams on the planet go head-to-head in the El Clasico derby in Spain as Real Madrid host Barcelona in La Liga and some of the top teams in the Premier League lock horns as Chelsea and Manchester City play for some vital points in the title race.

All that action is just the tip of the iceberg of what Sky has to offer this December as they also bring the Carling Cup, Scottish Premier League, Championship and even League One.

Champions League: Manchester City v Bayern Munich

Firstly Roberto Mancini's table-topping Blues face-off against four-time European Cup winners, Bayern Munich, at the Etihad Stadium. The home side's future is out of their hands because if Napoli beat Villarreal in their last match, it will see the Citizens only qualify for the Europa League. The Blues have seven points so far in Group A whereas Napoli are on eight. Bayern Munich has coasted to secure top spot in the group on thirteen points and Villarreal are rock bottom with no points.

Wednesday, 7th December, 7:45pm on Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports 2H D.

La Liga: Real Madrid v Barcelona

Secondly last season's most entertaining, controversial and explosive fixture is back when Jose Mouinho's Copa del Rey holders take on Pep Guardiola's reigning Spanish and European champions. The insuppressible hosts have a six point lead ahead of the derby encounter thanks to their ruthless destruction of the rest of the league after a jittery start. Meanwhile the visitors haven't replicated their form of the previous season and a loss to Getafe has been the latest set-back in their bid to win a 22nd Primera Division title.

Saturday, 10th December, 9:00pm on Sky Sports 4 and Sky Sports HD 4.

Premier League: Chelsea v Manchester City

Finally Manchester City travel to Stamford Bridge to take on an inconsistent Chelsea team in what will be a decisive game in terms of each club's hopes for their English Premier League title aspirations. The big-spending Manchester side have smashed several records on their way to going five points clear at the top of the table and they will be hoping to add another three points to that total against the Pensioners. Andre Villas-Boas' team have been patchy since the arrival of the Portuguese coach and are currently in fifth place in the table.
Monday, 12th December, 8:00pm on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports HD 1 plus Sky 3D.
