    Top10 - Number 2: Gary Hooper (Celtic - Norwich)

    Name: Gary Hooper

    Age: 25

Former Clubs: Grays Athletic, Southend United, Leyton Orient (loan), Hereford United (loan), Scunthorpe United, Celtic

Stats: 113 goals in 219 appearances

Situation: Hooper is hot property right now and the Premier League knows it. Amongst the interested are said to be Norwich City, Fulham, Reading and Swansea, but it is unknown whether the valuation of the player by Celtic can or will be met. There is no doubt in my mind that Hooper would score goals in the English topflight, and I would welcome him to prove the doubters who claim that his goals only come because he is playing in the Scotland.

    Top10 - Number 3: Danny Graham (Swansea - Sunderland)

    Name: Danny Anthony William Graham

    Age: 27

Former Clubs: Middlesbrough, Darlington (loan), Derby County (loan), Leeds United (loan), Blackpool (loan), Carlisle (loan), Carlisle, Watford, Swansea

Stats: 94 goals in 283 appearances

Situation: Despite being a boyhood Newcastle United fan and previously saying that he would never join rivals Sunderland, it appears that that is exactly what he is going to do. A reported £5.5m deal is underway and the early stages are being agreed, but with the likes of Norwich also battling for his services then the striker's destination is as of yet unknown. Graham has asked to leave Swansea City for 'personal reasons'.

    Top10 - Number 4: David Villa (Barcelona - Arsenal)

    Name: David Villa Sanchez

    Age: 31

Former Clubs: Sporting Gijon, Real Zaragoza, Valencia, Barcelona.

Stats: 207 goals in 382 appearances.

Situation: Despite his comeback from a horrific leg break last year, Villa has slipped straight back into the Barcelona side and has 5 goals this season at the time of writing this. Arsenal are in desperate need of some extra firepower and Villa would provide that in abundance, but Arsene Wenger has publicly announced that there is no chance of the Spaniar joining the north London outfit.

Whether or not that statement is a smokescreen or an attempt to sneak his signature behind the backs or a lurking Manchester City is yet to be seen, and a move to the Premier League before the deadline could well be on.

    Top10 - Number 5: Jamie Mackie (QPR - Fulham)

    Name: James Charles Mackie

    Age: 27

Former Clubs: Wimbledon, Milton Keynes Dons, ExeterCity, Sutton United (loan), Plymouth Argyle, QPR

Stats: 53 goals in 276 games

Situation: With the amount of talent in the ranks at QPR right now it inevitably means that some will be pushed out of the club, and it appears Jamie Mackie is one of them. The winger is being tracked by Fulham and Reading and his need for regular, first team football in the Premier League could be the deciding factor. He has proved to be a real asset to a club over the last few seasons with his willingness to run at opponents, his crossing ability and his eye for goal.

    Top10 - Number 6: Peter Crouch (Stoke - QPR)

    Name: Peter James Crouch

    Age: 32

Former Clubs: Tottenham, Dulwich Hamlet (loan), IFK Hassleholm (loan), QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Norwich, Southampton, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Tottenham, Stoke City

Stats: 97 goals in 381 appearances

Situation: In similar circumstances to those of Niko Kranjcar, Crouch seems to be a favourite of Harry Redknapp and follows him wherever he goes. The bean sprout has had a decent spell in the first team this season with the Potters, 21 appearances (16 starts), and has scored 5 goals. Redknapp appears to be going all out to ensure his side climb out of the bottom 3, and if signing Peter Crouch is seen as a way to enable that, then expect Tony Fernandes to get his chequebook out once again.

    Top10 - Number 7: Jack Butland (Birmingham - Liverpool)

    Name: Jack Butland

    Age: 19

Former Clubs: Cheltenham Town (loan), Birmingham City

    Stats: 53 appearances

Situation: Birmingham City's financial plight has unfortunately forced them into a tricky situation regarding player sales. Butland appears to be on the verge of a move to the Premier League, but where to is anyone's guess. Both Liverpool and Chelsea have has their eye on the teen and it is believed that he is available on a cut-price deal, meaning that his options are likely to be vast. Whether he chooses a switch which benefits him with first team football or he is lured by the money the big boys are offering is yet to be seen.

    Top10 - Number 8: Leandro Damiao (Internacional - Spurs)

Name: Leandro Damiao da Silva dos Santos

    Age: 23

    Former Clubs: Internacional

Stats: 60 goals in 107 appearances.

Situation: Tottenham gaffer Andre Villas-Boas has been on the trail of the Brazil international for a while now and it could be the perfect time to strike. Due to injuries, the Africa Cup of Nations and lack of form, Spurs currently have Clint Dempsey as their only option for their striker role.

Although the American has found his form in front of goal of late, his is primarily a midfielder and the White Hart Lane outfit are lacking any strength in depth in attack. Damiao is said to be keen for a switch to Europe, and at 23-years-old looks a very, very exciting prospect for potential  buyers.

    Name: Luciano Hector Becchio

    Age: 29

Former Clubs: Mallorca B, Murcia (loan), Terrassa, Barcelona B, Merida, Leeds United

Stats: 77 goals in 192 appearances

Situation: Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has publicly announced his interest in the Leeds striker, and his absence from the Elland Road outfit's current fixtures has added fuel to the fire in regards to the speculation that is currently surrounding him. Becchio is aching for a crack at the Premier League and has the attributes to make that jump a success, should it happen.

    Name: Nike Kranjcar

    Age: 28

Former Clubs: Dinamo Zagreb, Hadjuk Split, Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur, Dynamo Kiev

Stats: 56 goals in 278 appearances

Situation:  Having twice worked under Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth and Spurs, Kranjcar is being linked with a move to Redknapp's newest club - Queens Park Rangers. The Croatia midfielder would add a bucket-load of creativity and would be available at a reasonable low price, something which would suit QPR down to the ground in regards to their current battle to retain their Premier League status.

    Top5 - Number 1: Mohammed Rabiu (Evian)

Who: A big, strong defensive midfielder in the Cheick Tiote mould. At 23-years-old he has been shipped around the continent to try and find himself a secure position, playing for the likes of Ghanaian side Liberty, Spanish clubs Gimnastic and Xerez on loan spells, Italian outfits Sampdoria and Udinese before switching to France to play for current club Evian. He also plays for his national side Ghana.

Despite his mass of clubs, he is enjoying his first real spell of first team football and has played 16 times this campaign, scoring once an providing one assist.

Where: Fulham have been linked with the bulky midfielder to add some strength into the middle of their spine.

Why: A solid anchorman who has a lovely passing technique - Rabiu would be perfect for a Premier League side should they take the punt.
