Arsenal launch £8m bid for centre half

Arsene Wenger has kicked off a summer of rebuilding with a £8million bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Chris Samba.

With yet another season without a trophy Wenger has placed a centre half at the top off his wish list this summer reports the mail online.

Samba himself hinted at a possible exit after revealing he nearly joined the Gunners in January. Earlier on in the month the 27-year old said “Everybody knows that I am an ambitious player. I think a move to Arsenal was very close in January but that is life.
