Liverpool and Arsenal battle it out for Catalan star

Premiership duo Liverpool and Arsenal lead the race to sign Ibrahim Afellay.

Both clubs are looking to reinforce their wings in the summer and have indentified the Dutch star as a potential recruit.

Since joining from Dutch giants PSV in January, Afellay has failed to secure a permanent place within the Barca side making the starting line up just 7 times.

Despite being mainly a bench warmer, the 25-year old has looked impressive when called upon and Barca are prepared to do business around £10million.
