Arsenal on alert for Nasri replacement

The Gunners are pushing Samir Nasri to make a quick decision on his future as potential replacement Stewart Downing has hinted at a possible exit.

Sports mail suggests Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the Villa wide man who has been identified as a possible replacement if contract rebel Nasri opts to leave in the summer.

The England International has suggested he may leave in the summer, he said 'I know Villa are keen for me to extend my contract as I only have two years left on my deal.

'However, I am 26, and at a major crossroads in my career, so I won't be committing to a new deal at the moment.

'The most important thing is to play football, but I do want to play in the Champions League at some point.'

Despite a 5 year contract on the table worth a reported £90,000 a week, Nasri appears to be stalling and will be sold if he fails to sign the extension.
