Why Arsenal fans miss Cesc Fabregas

The love triangle between Fabregas, Arsenal and Barcelona is more famous than any in the history of football. Well, for Arsenal fans anyway.

Cesc Fabregas: The one that got away from Arsenal

Many Arsenal fans harbour feelings of resentment towards former midfielder and captain Cesc Fabregas following his return home to Barcelona in 2011.

Why is the Number 10 role so important?

This is actually quite a new phenomenon, or at least it's importance is new. In the past the 'number 10' has usually been the secondary striker, or in more simple terms, the player that plays behind the striker. Dennis Bergkamp was a famous 'number 10' and one of the best. Henry was the player that played beyond him with Dennis instigating most attacks. However, these 'number 10's' could also play as the main striker if needs be. In this day and age, the 'number 10' role is often played by the attacking midfielder. So a few current examples are Mesut Ozil, Juan Mata and David Silva. They will still instigate most attacks but will not be a replacement striker.

Why Signing Mathieu Flamini Was A Wise Move For Arsenal

After looking at Yaya Sangogo in my previous article, I thought I'd have a closer look at Arsenal's French midfielder Mathieu Flamini. Now if your memory serves you well, you will remember the name Mathieu Flamini as the player had previously spent time in the Premier League. In fact, he spent his previous time with Arsenal, when the Gunners had a midfield which included Alex Hleb, Francesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky. This time round, though, the Frenchman will be playing alongside Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey to name a few. It's a change, yes, but the quality of players around him remains the same, if not better.

A Mixed Start For David Moyes At Manchester United

An opening weekend from heaven for David Moyes after a 4-1 away win at Swansea - who themselves have been full of pre-season optimism after dispatching of Malmo in the Europa League qualifying rounds. The new man in charge has also secured his first silverware, with a 2-0 win over Wigan in their Community Shield meeting.

Why It Would Be Unwise To Question Manchester United's Title Credentials

Business as usual, then, for Manchester United this past weekend, as they negotiated a pretty tricky away trip to Swansea by overpowering the Swans - coming out 4-1 victors at the Liberty Stadium.

    Arsenal's Wonderkid - Gedion Zelalem

My article from yesterday has inspired my video choices for today, as I will provide three clips on some of the Arsenal youngsters I mentioned. I will start with Gedion Zelalem, who has impressed people the most. The player is still just 16 years old but  there are already whispers around the club that the German could be make the bench for Arsenal's opening Premier League game against Aston Villa due to the Gunners having an extremely thin squad.

Arsenal Youngsters Who Could Make The Step Up This Season

As we all know, Arsene Wenger loves to unearth gems from around the world and they are usually young. His extensive scouting network has allowed him to bring in talent from South America, North America, Asia, Africa and of course Europe. Perhaps the more favourable destination for his scouts is sunny Spain - in a certain Catalonia area where a certain Spanish team play their football, to be more precise. Anyway, Wenger is very good at buying young talent and selling them for large fees in the future. Henry, Fabregas, Adebayor, Nasri etc... You get the picture. In this piece I will evaluate who in the Arsenal youth set up will possibly make the step up this season.

Arsenal - What Could Have Been And What Could Still Be

Everyone seems to be induldged in conversation about the comings and goings regarding Arsenal this summer. The gunners have had a huge pool of players linked with them for next season, two of these being Argentine sensation Gonzalo Higuain and Liverpool's Luis Suarez, but will missing out on the duo prove costly for the north London outfit?

Do Manchester United Have The Same Pulling Power Under David Moyes?

I think it will quite some time before we fully appreciate and understand what Sir Alex Ferguson was able to achieve in his time at Manchester United.

Why Barcelona Can't Afford To Sell Cesc Fabregas To Manchester United

In the past few weeks, the Cesc Fabregas saga has reached new heights. David Moyes has openly stated that Manchester United have had bids which are believed to be around £26 million and £31 million rejected. Moyes isn’t finished there either, he appears to be surprisingly optimistic as he has said “when you are interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise. “I’ll hope that things can continue to move forward.” I was at how optimistic he was despite the countless bold statements from the Barcelona camp and the recently appointed Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino saying ‘'Man United want Cesc? If the club rejected two offers, I will reject it a third time. Cesc will be here."

In the third and final part of my transfer assessment, I focus on the players that are regularly being linked with moves to new clubs but haven't yet agreed to sign for their prospective admirers.

Loyalty in football - Does it still exist?

Is there a disillusion of loyalty in football? Or has the era of the one club men faded and now it's the dawning of self preservation from footballers?

Thiago sale is a mistake (Video)

Bayern Munich's signing of midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona has left many people questioning what the Spanish club is up to. The 22-year-old, who has already played a fair amount of first team football at the Camp Nou over the past few seasons, was apparently unhappy at not being assured of regular first team action. No doubt that Pep Guardiola has had an important influence on this transfer and with a £22m deal sealing the move, it would appear that he will line-up alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger in their midfield next season. Why then were Barcelona unable to convince him to stay?

Few could blame Manchester United player Tom Cleverley for walking around at the moment with an air of ubiquitous trepidation.
